The group held its centenary conference at the RACV Club in Melbourne ten days ago.
Australian Newspaper History Group’s Rod Kirkpatrick reports that about 130 people attended the conference, with 150 people at a dinner that night at the Australia Club. Main speaker at the conference was Fairfax Media chief executive and managing director Brian McCarthy who spoke mainly about what was happening in digital media and how Fairfax was moving in that area.

The Morgan-Letts family has owned the ‘Times’ since it began in 1875.
