Goss International will emphasize its strong local connections with the market when it exhibits at Print China (the 2nd International Printing Technology Exhibition of China) from April 9-13.

Owned by Shanghai Electric, it will exhibit along with other divisions within a 1020 m2 stand at the show in Dong Guan, Guangdong Province.

The first Goss presses were installed in China in 1980, and more than 3500 Goss printing units have been installed in the country over the past decade.

At the show it will demonstrate a single-width one-around Goss Magnum newspaper press tower, unveiling new features including advanced folding, improved tension control, modified unit cooling controls, digital workflow management with remote diagnostics and an optional three-forme inker. The Magnum press is manufactured at the Goss facility in Shanghai.

Goss will also highlight its full portfolio of presses manufactured throughout the world including the Newsliner, Uniliner, Universal and Community SSC newspaper presses and M-600, M-500 and Sunday commercial webs.

President and chief executive Jochen Meissner says printers and publishers in the Guangdong Province and throughout China are embracing advanced, industrialised printing capabilities: "We have earned a leadership position in the commercial web and newspaper sectors by delivering the press technology they need and backing it up with a long-term, local presence," he says.

Meissner says the acquisition by Shanghai Electric has presented opportunities to further integrate and streamline the Goss manufacturing, sales and support network in China, providing more resources, more product choices and more efficient access for customers.
