The company’s unwind, rewind and finishing systems have been central to inkjet web press makers’ digital newspaper offerings. While that may be about to change, the privately-owned Swiss is making sure it is seen all over the Düsseldrof show.
The range of applications may provide prospective press purchasers with encouragement that they can produce a lot more than just newspapers.
Hunkeler’s own stand includes systems for book-on-demand production, security and dynamic perforating and punching, in addition to a POPP7 system for broadsheet newspapers.
On other stands are:
• Horizon’s offline systems for 6000 booklets-an-hour; book production with signatures, and 180 metres/minute mailing production.
• Infeed and rewind systems for Impika’s 250 metres/minute iPrint 250.
• Roll-to-roll production on Kodak’s compact Versamark 500W full-colour duplex.
• An MB folding line for direct mailing off the roll.
• Roll-to-stack production on Océ’s CS3500 transpromo system.
• Pitney Bowes’ duplex IntelliJet 20 for full-colour transpromo, in a 122 metre/minute roll-to-roll demonstration.
• Ricoh’s roll-to-stack system including perforation, based on the InfoPrint 5000.
• Roll-to-roll prodduction on Screen’s new 220 metres/minute Jet520ZZ colour inkjet system; and
