Tensor has sold a two-tower press to a publisher in Ankara, Turkey, its second in the city in a month.
Özgün Companies Group will use the highly-automated single-width press to print regional newspapers and books. Consisting of two T-400BE towers and an H-50 folder, it is scheduled for installation during May this year.
The package includes a footprint shaftless drive system with DRCS closed loop register controls, web guiding, remote inking, infeeds and splicers. The two towers have a four-web capacity by utilising dual unwind features on the splicers.
To meet its niche market needs, the folder will have double-parallel, quarter and half-fold capabilities. The cutoff is 565mm.
Özgün’s vice chairman Fırat Gündoğan says the company needed a highly dependable and versatile press system that could withstand a heavy workload.
“Tensor and (sales agent) Pasifik Trading maintain strong reputations in the region and we’re convinced their technical expertise and support will be both proactive and efficient,” he says.
Tensor chief operating officer and sales vice president Mike Pavone says the highly automated system components will also create greater efficiency with low start-up waste and ink consumption. “We are very pleased to partner with an exceptional and strong company such as Özgün and look forward to many years of strong and prosperous relations.”
Tensor had recently announced another press sale to a Turkish book and magazine printer with similar specifications. That press is scheduled for delivery and installation, also in Ankara, during the second quarter of this year.
