Japan’s San-in Chuo Shimpo newspaper, based in Matsue, has ordered an additional five-web TKS double width press.
The Color Top 7100CD press is due to go into production at the San-in Chuo Shimpo production centre in April 2014. A number of these double-width presses are already running at sites in Japan and abroad.
It will be capable of printing 40 pages with 24 in process colour at speeds of up to 90,000 copies per hour. The installation includes two 4/4 towers, two 4/1 towers and a mono unit with a folder and five reelstands.
TKS are also supplying their T-NPC production control system, auto web leads, and spray bar dampening. A TRC-500 colour registration system is complemented by TKS’s printed image inspection system and cutoff control.
A Color Top 6000 press is already running at San-in Chuo Shimpo.
The region is known for its Matsue ‘black’ castle, which dates to 1607 and is one of very few medieval castles in the country remaining in its original wooden form.
