A special daily edition of Paris-based Paulette Magazine was printed digitally during the Cannes Film Festival in May, and trucked in from Italy.

Visitors along the Boulevard de la Croisette and other festival venues received copies of the tabloid La Gazette Paulette, printed on CSQ’s HP T230 inkjet web. The factory in Lombardy, Northern Italy, is 433 km away.

CSQ managing director Dario De Cian said the publisher wanted fast-turnarounds and consistent print quality to meet its goal of delivering the latest festival news and images: “During the festival, we produced six editions of 6000 copies each. Paulette sent us PDF files before 4.00 pm and copies were delivered to Cannes the next morning before 8.30 am."

He says CSQ was already delivering foreign newspapers daily to Monaco and other points on the French Riviera, making it easy to include copies of the special edition. Women’s magazine Paulette sent a team of four – two photographers, the art director and a journalist – to Cannes, and these were supported by five more in the Paris office.
