KBA and Ferag will supply an upgrade for Chinese media company Hua Shang Digital  to up production to 180,000 newspapers an hour.

The double-width press delivers 24-page all colour papers across two double folders, with four UTR universal conveyors conveying and bundling the product.

With around 600 employees, Hua Shang Digital prints daily newspapers including Hua Shang Bao, Xinwenhua Bao and Chongqing Shibao. The Xian plant prints some 100 titles under contract to parent company Hua Shang Media Group and other publishers.

Duplicating the two mailroom lines – which run to four MultiStack stackers – gives flexibility and security, with the system designed to handle the maximum 90,000 cph output of the presses. The conveyor also allows production to be split between two stackers for back-up.

Two MemoStick modules for stick-on note application can be used on any of four lines.
