Newspaper, book orders keep TPH Orient busy

Indian press maker TPH Orient says it has taken orders for seven presses in recent months.

One – a repeat order from a major Punjab newspaper – calls for a five-tower Orient X-Cel. The fully-automated 36,000 cph press includes QI Press Controls colour register and automatic reel changers.

Four 30,000 cph Orient Super presses configured for 16 page colour newspapers are going to newspaper publishers in eastern and central India. the company says three are new customers buying their first press. “We’re elated that these customers have chosen to setup presses of 16 pages each at the start of their independent print operations,” says a spokesman.


Existing customers in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Kerala and Manipur are extending their presses, most with four-high towers.

In addition, two sheetfed book printers are looking forward to much larger volumes with the installation of all-colour Orient Super web presses. The presses are among “multiple orders” in the book segment, and TPH says it has just shipped three lines of Orient Super of 560 mm. cut off – each with folder with quarterfold – to a new book printer in a neighbouring country, for commissioning before the end of the year.
