As manroland India becomes involved in activities outside its core web-offset printing base, the wholly-owned subsidiary has announced the appointment of a new managing director .

Forty-six-year-old Sudeep Bhattacharjee took on the Delhi-based role at the beginning of this month.

manroland web systems has been represented on the Indian market with a sales and service company since 2003, and last June took on the distributorship of labelling equipment and consumables from German company Novexx Solutions, the former Avery Dennison 'industrial print and apply' business unit.

Managing director Jörn Gossé says the appointment reinforces its local presence in a major market.

Bhattacharjee is a former production assistant vice president of the Times of India in Delhi, and worked previously for ABP Group in Kolkata and Business India Group in Mumbai.
