More single-width colour rego for India

A ten-camera colour registration installation on a press at Pudhari Publications in Kolhapur, India could be the precursor to further orders.

The QI Press Controls mRC-3D installation on a five-tower Manugraph Cityline is further acceptance of the viability of automation on single-width presses.

The appointment of Yogesh Jadhav as managing director at Pudhari Publications two years ago has helped instil a youthful, dynamic enthusiasm in the company based in the Maharashtra state, where Pudhari is a growing newspaper group for the Marathi language.

Vijay Pandya, managing director of QIPC India, says Yogesh Jadhav is constantly coming up with ideas about how to stay ahead of the competition: "Automation is just one of these."

Pandya says new technical general manager S.K. Chatterjee was already well acquainted with successful QIPC installations on Manugraph presses. The mRC-3D system in Kolhapur - which includes ink mist shields - will automate colour register, improving quality and maximising waste savings.

Pudhari Publications has two other print sites in addition to Kolhapur, and if the system proves its worth there, Pandya says there is "a distinct possibility" that it will be installed on the other presses.
