Morocco-based Le Matin is updating control and registration systems at its Casablanca plant with partners QI Press Controls and EAE.
The newspaper will update its EAE operating system while adding QI's mRC-3D colour and cut-off register technology. Executive director Kamal el Alami says the "effective synergy" of the two linked companies provided an opportunity to add automation solutions as well as upgrade the existing equipment. "Partnership is an important concept in this industry," he says. "There is a need for reciprocal support to ensure that our activities survive and that the end user can overcome the crisis in the printing industry."
The contract includes hardware and software updates for its PrintPP control console and Info System, and 15 mRC-3D cameras for colour and cut-off register will be fitted.
"We look forward to being able to offer our customers a better service thanks to the quality improvements these systems provide," says Kamal el Alami.
Group Le Matin is the leading newspaper printer in Morocco and has several heatset and sheetfed presses. For QIPC, it is the first order from a Moroccan client and there are hope of more to follow it.
