HP has made its boldest bid yet for the entry-level inkjet web market with a new T200 series press launched at InnovationDays in Lucerne.
The T235 HD is an entry-level, continuous-feed inkjet web described as "the most economical entry point" to high quality digital commercial printing.
It features HP's High Definition Nozzle Architecture (HDNA) and can be upgraded to the level of the more productive T240 HD.
General manager of the PageWide industrial division Eric Wiesner says the PageWide platform has a milestone of 210 billion customer-printed pages, "further reinforcing" acceptance of the company's thermal inkjet technology.
The duplex press has a native resolution of 2400 nozzles per inch, printing at 122 metres per minute in 'performance' mode at single drop weight mode or 61 metres per minute in dual drop weight quality mode for smoother skin tones.
While too slow for typical newspaper applications, its versatility and price may make it attractive for remote sites: "The press makes it possible to deliver cost-efficient, relevant and targeted print that engages customers in more creative ways," says Wiesner.
