OneVision's Asura Family 17.1 offers the option of expanding prepress workflows with a trapping module, with options for newspaper publishers as well as offset and digital printers. With PDF trapping, a plugin is used to generate an additional layer to the original file, which allows validatation of the trapping result and manual adjustments. With In-RIP Trapping, trapping takes place during halftone printing.

New archiving features mean images can be extracted and stored in in JPEG or TIFF formats, and files output that are compliant with PDF/A-2b. Asura can also identify incorrect fonts during preflight.
