Norwegian giant Amedia's complex production load across six plants is being coordinated using a cloud-based planning tool.
One of the country's largest coldset printers, the company runs seven printing plants, from Bodø in the far north to Larvik, 1200 kilometres south. MWM's cloud-based PPC tool is used to synchronise and coordinate overall production in six printing plants for around 65 titles.
Amedia Trykk had been complementing its MWM CopyTrack system with a Java-based planning system, but over the last thre years has contributed to the development of the new cloud-based system.
PPC allows Amedia Trykk to plan titles, printing jobs and deliveries. Inserts can be booked directly on titles. Most of inserts for Amedia are imported to the system from the Norwegian national insert booking system. Newspapers use a web portal to enter circulation information and the number of pages, with jobs transferred to CopyTrack via an interface.
