Controls on a Geoman newspaper presse have been updated in a project for a Novus Print site in Gauteng, South Africa.
Multiple small replacements within the printing unit, folder unit and turner bar section - including Interbus loop, ink level sensors, web break detectors, angle encoder, valve cluster interface and an operating panel - were replaced by manroland web systems without disrupting production.
"This process was conducted while the press was still in operation, resulting in no impact on production thus no disruption for their clients," says manroland sales and service vice president Nidal Odeh.
The two companies have a long-standing partnership, and manroland has previously conducted both hardware and software upgrades to the current system used by the Geoman presses.
Novus Print incorporates Paarl Coldset and Paarl Media facilities across South Africa.
