Serbian heatset printer Color Press Group is updating automation with a QI system for its Rotoman D press.
With presses which "belong to the previous generation", technology such as QI Press Controls' mRC-3D system was considered a necessity. Executive director Zoran Tovjanin says the company operates in a "fiercely competitive" market, making it vital they can deliver the best quality print.
"In addition to savings in efficiency, we expect the new system to bring about major quality improvements, giving us an edge over our rivals."
Four mRC-3D cameras for colour register and two for cut-off control will limit register waste to 500 revolutions, restrict overall paper waste by 40 per cent, and enhance quality of the printed matter. Tovjanin expects the upgrade will also make life easier for staff.
