Jakarta-based Indonesia Printer – one of the country's largest printing companies – is moving into web-offset with a four-unit Goss M-600being installed next month.
The press, which will help meet a growing demand for high-quality magazines, has a JF-55 folder, Ecocool dryer with integrated chill rolls and Web Center automated workflow.
"The advanced technology of the M-600, along with our attention to quality, will allow us to outperform competitors and improve customer relationships," says president of PT. Indonesia Printer Welly Bolung. "This type of cutting edge technology has been the driver throughout our 25-year history and it will continue to lead us forward as a supplier for an expansive market at home and abroad."
A growing number of sheetfed printers worldwide are installing web presses as a means of diversifying, achieving higher productivity and gaining competitive advantage, according to Tim Mercy, vice president of commercial press sales for Goss International in Asia.
"The M-600 press is often ideal for this transition because it provides a versatile 16-page format, premium print quality and exceptional agility and efficiency for shorter-run applications," he says.
Established in 1983, Indonesia Printer produces a range of printed products including magazines, annual reports, brochures, coffee-table books, greeting cards, general books and posters.
Mercy says the installation will be a major milestone for the Indonesian print market: "We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Indonesia Printer on an exciting project designed to expand the company's success as well as raise the bar for print quality and productivity standards in the country."
