Replacing an outdated automation system, Offenbach-based Reiff Zeitungsdruck is looking for as little waste as possible on their Koenig & Bauer Commander press.

Twelve new QI Press Controls mRC-3D cameras are being installed for register and cut-off control, helping the print facility save start-up waste and work more efficiently.

Managing director Ewald Hauser says the old system was no longer supported, "It was therefore essential for us to replace that old system."

Hauser says his team visited several printing companies before deciding on the "safe" choice, QIPC also being the press manufacturer's preferred supplier.
