Press simulator users to gather in Beijing

French press simulator developer Sinapse will make use of an extensive installation at Beijing Institute of Graphic Communications for its first Asian Print Simulator user meeting from April 22-24. Agenda for the Beijing event is still being finalised, but will include the use of simulators at the Worldskills 2009 competition, and for evaluation and skills competitions in China and other countries. Presentations by education, industry and government will cover the challenges facing the Chinese printing and packaging industry, the need for good training, and the role simulators can play. Other topics include: - Integrating simulators in industrial and educational training programs (user presentations); - Centralised learning management and Automatic analysis features; - ISO standards, print certification and the role simulators can play; - New generations of Sinapse simulators (the ‘roadmap’); - New speech functions (including the ability to run the simulator in Chinese, have it ‘speak’ in another language); - Hands-on workshop/refresher courses on simulators (for commercial, packaging and newspaper sectors); - Suggestions for improvement in the simulators. Sessions will be held in English or Chinese, with accompanying interpretation. Host the Beijing Institute of Communication has more than 35 simulators installed, making it possible to run simultaneous workshops on different simulators.
