DPG Media – formerly De Persgroep – is expanding its pressroom tech rollout with a a new upgrade in The Hague.
The Netherlands site, equipped with a six-tower KBA Commander, will go ‘closed-loop’ through an order with QI Press Controls.
This is the third of DPG’s three Dutch print facilities to be fully automated by the Netherlands specialist.
The largest media company in The Netherlands, it has a portfolio of national, regional and local titles, and is known for its high quality standards in printing.
Director Ruud de Klerk (left) said an extension of the press automation was “essential to continue our printing operations in The Hague, not only to secure overall quality standards but also to improve our efficiency.”
The initial Amsterdam project – in which control was centred on two consoles – has been widely publicised. QIPC’s Erwin van Rossem described it as “a huge success for all parties”, given the demonstration on multiple platforms.
“We are very pleased at being awarded with this project since it definitely confirms DPG Media’s high level of satisfaction, the best compliment we can get”.
De Persgroep – which has about 5000 employees and annual revenues quoted at about EUR 1.6 billion Euros – changed its name to DPG Media in 2019.
