Two press automation projects at Adams Publishing Group sites have seen upgrades in Cheyenne, Wyoming and Bozeman, Montana.
A 2008 manroland Uniset in Cheyenne had a virtualised PPM server and two new desk controllers retrofitted by Swedish specialist DCOS in January.
In Bozeman (pictured), closed-loop colour density and registration systems have been delivered, with installation on the four-tower-plus-two-high DGM 440 to start in the next weeks.
DCOS’ Ron Ehrhardt says the company has upgraded three DGM 440 users in the last year, including four heatset presses and one UV DGM 440 presses. "We welcome any opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities to the DGM user base at our U.S customer sites,” adds Ehrhardt.
Headquartered in Greeneville, Tennessee, APG publishes 37 daily newspapers. The 15,000-circulation Bozeman Daily Chronicle is the state’s fifth-largest newspaper, while the 14,000 Wyoming Tribune Eagle claims to be Wyoming's second-largest daily newspaper and its largest locally-owned newspaper.
