Former KBA Asia Pacific & Australasia managing director Stefan Segger turns his entire focus on webfed digital printing following an announcement by German press maker Koenig & Bauer.

Segger has been the company’s sales vice president for digital and webfed since 2016, following the almost 13 years he spent in the Sydney-based role.

Newly recruited is Philipp Zimmermann, who takes on global web offset and digital press sales as sales head of its Digital & Webfed unit.

Continued market expansion of the RotaJet press in packaging, decor and book printing segments will also be a focus of his role.

Zimmermann (pictured) spent the last ten years with KraussMaffei Technologies, which makes machinery for the plastics industry, having been Asia sales manager and then product and sales manager for composite fibre and surface technologies for reaction process machinery. He headed a unit making special machines for lightweight construction and high-end surface technologies, as well as process and system solutions for the manufacturing of industrial components using polyurethane and other reactive materials from 2018, and then took on global sales of reaction process machinery.

According to the manufacturer, Zimmermann’s role at Koenig & Bauer will also be to “further consolidate the close business relationships with commercial and newspaper printers”.
